Lubbock Sun
Doesn't Quit.
Lubbock sits at over 3,200 feet elevation with one of the highest UV indexes in the country. Summer cabin temperatures in unprotected vehicles can exceed 150 degrees. That's not just a comfort issue, it's a damage issue. Dashboards crack, leather dries out, and interior plastics fade years ahead of schedule. Quality window tint is one of the highest-ROI protections you can put on a daily driver in this climate. We've been doing this since 2013. We know what holds up here and what doesn't.

WINDOW TINT
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What's the difference between ceramic and carbon window tint?
Ceramic film is the premium tier. It's nano-ceramic construction delivers the highest heat and UV rejection available, with zero metallic content so it never interferes with signals or electronics. Carbon film is a strong mid-tier option with solid heat rejection and no signal interference at a lower price point. Both are a significant upgrade over standard dyed film. We'll help you choose based on your vehicle, your goals, and your budget.
How long does window tint last in West Texas heat?
STEK films are built for exactly this environment. A proper ceramic or carbon install should last the life of the vehicle without fading, bubbling, or peeling under normal conditions. Cheap dyed films start failing in 2-3 years in high-UV climates like Lubbock. That's the difference between buying film once and buying it twice.
Will ceramic tint interfere with my phone signal, GPS, or toll tag?
No. That's one of the key advantages of ceramic and carbon films over older metallic films. STEK's ceramic and carbon lines contain no metallic content, so your phone signal, GPS, Apple CarPlay, and toll transponders all function normally after installation.
What are the legal tint limits in Texas?
Front side windows require a minimum of 25% VLT. Rear side windows and the rear windshield can be any darkness. The windshield allows tint only on the top 5 inches. We advise on compliant options for every install and won't put anything on your vehicle that puts you at risk of a fix-it ticket.
